The Proposed Plans

The digital rendering posted in this listing are the two examples of what we are capable of doing with the property.

Option 1 (left) shows the preservation of the church and surrounding environments in harmony with a large number of housing units ranging from one to multi-bedroom apartments, townhomes, affordable housing, recreational and retail stores. Many of the artifacts, such as the stained glassed and even the organ will be repurposed with the new building. This will be the first new development in Asbury Park to offer low and moderate income housing on the east side!

Market Stage Community Center

  • Located on the interior ground level of the preserved Church Structure

  • The side portals are to be partitioned between each arch using removable/collapsible walls for individual rental, confessionals removed and utilized. Anticipated tenants will be artists, appropriate small businesses, artists and other similar small mom/pop-type operations. Themed events will be held throughout the year to promote their sales and operations (holiday, spring, fall, etc).

  • The rear of the structure (where the altar was previously installed) is to be repurposed for an enclosed upscale sit-down restaurant/cafe, accessed through the rear side. Side space near the restaurant (by side door entrance) for local artist retail space. Engineering controls to be installed to address ambient sound issues

  • Pews to be removed and repurposed for use downstairs to create open space sitting area with chairs and tables, and possible pop-up stands

Option 2 (right) shows an “As of Right” development where the demolition of the church is necessary to build in the city’s R1 zone, which only permits single-family homes. The lot will be subdivided into six lots with multi-level housing, multiple bedrooms, garage space, rooftop spaces, and a backyard. Two of the six lots will include a pool.
